Datación cronológica por 14c y termoluminiscencia de tapiales islámicos del Real Alcázar de Sevilla

Abstract

The present work develops the study of samples coming from the tapiales of the Real Alcazar of Seville. The archaeological and historiographic knowledge, according to the techniques and constructive styles as well as with the existent documentary information, allows to establish a series of hypotheses of chronological signatures of elements of the wall of the palace. The study of samples from the tapiales of these walls with 14C, on charcoal and wood remains and thermoluminescence, on ceramic remains, makes it possible to question previous theories. The appearance of new wall paintings, hitherto inaccessible or unknown to be integrated and hidden in private homes, has allowed to expand the field of analysis on which to work in the chronological analytical structure of the first enclosure of the Palace. The archaeometric analysis and the use of instrumental techniques are decisive to deepen with greater discretion and rigor in the study of monuments as studied and interesting as a building of the magnitude of the Alcazar of Seville.
