Resumen
An electrical analog model was constructed in order to study the thermal field and heat transfer in concrete mass after it has been laid, during its hydration, and at the end of hydration. The model was constructed by first determining analogy between thermal fields and electrical fields and obtaining the necessary analog constants. The model, termed `RIC' includes a basic network of resistences (R) and condensers (C) into whose nodes an electrical current is introduced, proportionally scaled to simulate heat flow in the object under study. The RIC analog model is explained in detail with regard to its basic structure, simulation of heat generation, boundary and initial conditions, and the concrete casting process. The RIC model may be used to study any thermal problem related to the casting of massive concrete structures.
