The subject of Physics in engineering courses has traditionally been one of the most difficult core subjects to pass in the first years of university. The complexity of the problems and the high mathematical content of the subject make necessary a large amount of explanations and realization of type exercises so that their understanding is adequate. On the other hand, it is known that learning by doing and practicing is more meaningful for students. This is the reason why, it has been decided to implement the methodology of collaborative learning in physics courses of the Degree in Building, with the aim of increasing the performance of students and obtain better results. The work shows a proposal for the implementation of this methodology in the classroom and indicates the guidelines and requirements that must be met to meet the teaching objectives. The inclusion of active methodologies such as the one presented here favors the learning and participation of students in the classroom and helps to reduce the initial dropout rate in the first years of engineering and technical education.es
