Whole-body vibration presents a physical risk which affects the health of workers in the construction sector. Heavy equipment vehicles, such as earth moving machines, are widely used in this sector, and machine operators are regularly exposed to Whole-Body Vibration (WBV). The study presents five case studies. The aim of this study is to identify and measure WBV emissions and daily exposure levels. Three earth moving machines were analysed whilst performing different tasks. The results were obtained by measuring actual operations. Vibrations were measured in accordance with the EU Directive on physical agents (vibration) 2002/44/ EC and ISO 2631-1: 1997 Mechanical vibration and shock, evaluation of human exposure to whole-body vibration. © 2017 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
