Resumen
The lack of information concerning the building stock is one of the factors hindering its sustainable management. With the aim of promoting a proper preservation and renovation of existing buildings, our work addresses the challenge of improving the knowledge on these buildings, by focusing on their façades. This article presents the development of a collection of sheets, with key data related to the construction systems of façades, to characterize the most common constructive typologies found in the Spanish building stock. The collection of sheets gathers technical information about those systems in a systematic way, with data related to their features, most common lesions, and improvement capacity. Designed for their further adaptation into a digital format that contributes to developing holistic and interoperable databases using BIM, the classification sheets are manageable, and adaptable, properties that make it applicable to facilitate the inspection and diagnosis of existing buildings © 2022 CSIC.
