Abstract

Although cladding is not the most important part of buildings, these mate-rials are those in contact with the users and become part of their taste. Unlike other components, cladding (especially interior cladding) can be seen and touched directly. The raw materials they are made of, as well as their correct application, condition the perception of good or poor quality of our buildings. Thus, this study analyses the flaws in the cladding (whether continuous or discontinuous) of new buildings after their handover. Therefore, these flaws appeared at the beginning of the building lifecycle and were reported to the developer and the constructor for repair. When corrective actions were not taken, users filed legal claims so that their rights could be satisfied. The outcome of these legal actions is highlighted in this research.
