2018Resumen
The energy consumption of Spanish housing stock has to be analysed to promote appropriate urban refurbishment policies, and to reduce CO2 emissions. As building typologies differ considerably from one area to another, prior territory differentiation is required. In this regard, this study develops a methodology to analyse the residential building stock from Extremadura, and investigates a group of dwellings from different periods and building types. In the study, energy simulations, surveys and invoice data have been used, and both demand and consumption indicators have been provided. Therefore, the obtained values demonstrate that single-family houses consume, on average, between 100 and 200 kWh/m2, while multi-family houses reduce their values between 6o and150 kWh/m2, being the highest values those that belong to the constructive period between 1940 and 1980. In addition it is observed that most of the houses in the sample suffer energy poverty.
