Las participaciones empresariales de las Cajas de Ahorro Españolas, 1997-2004: Una perspectiva regional

Abstract

This paper analyses the recent trends followed by the Spanish banks and namely by saving banks, related to their portfolio of shares. The legal framework of the bank system, the bank economic theory, and the saving bank's specific aims towards economical regional development explain this behaviour and allow us to make some predictions for the future.
