Resumen
In the field of digital building information modeling (BIM) tools, a methodology for the semi-automated creation of building energy performance simulation (BEM) models would enhance their extensive use. Relevant BIM data schemas include Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) and building schema XML (gbXML). Many commercial tools support export in one of these two BIM schemas. One of the problems is that this export is often not perfect: contrary to what one would expect, the resulting exports are of low quality and therefore not directly usable. In this communication an analysis is made of the different published methodologies for the (semi) automated generation of thermal simulation models, of different procedures and algorithms that convert the geometrical information, allowing it to be a TRNSYS input file. © 2021 by the authors
