Abstract
The nanotechnological applications and uses in the construction industry are gradually more present. As a result, more workers are exposed to nanomaterials, while the health risks are less recognized. It is not easy to protect the workers in the current uncertainty scenario. In order to supply tools that serve to adopt correct decisions in this field, this study identifies basic recommendations for the control of the exposition to nanomaterials in construction sites. In this sense, the authors have reviewed scientific literature and documentation of prestigious Institutes of Occupational Safety and Health. Finally it would be advisable to devote more efforts and resources to the research in risk preventions in the use of nanomaterials in the construction sector.
