Building Engineer Degree: Tutorial Action in Organization of Work

Abstract

The incorporation of Spanish university education system to the new European Higher Education Area requires adapting Universities to the university degrees in accordance with common structures that means an opportunity for renewed study methodologies. Technical Architecture is a well established university degree in Spain that has become the bachelor degree of Building Engineers with a curriculum that is developed in four years and includes new competences for the graduates. Organization of work is the successor of the former course "Organization, Programming and Control of Works". It develops the competences of the Building Engineers in the execution of work from a business perspective. This involves the efficient management of the production means and the work coordination, in order to optimize all available resources for the execution of building work. We propose new work strategies and the incorporation of new teaching methodologies to achieve excellence in training, while ensuring the integral education of the new Building Engineers graduates.
