Resumen
Porous materials are biomedical devices used for bone integration and replacement. Because of this application, pore size, shape and connectivity are modified in order to enhance tissue in-growth. Also, porosity influences mechanical strength and stiffness, this last parameter being critical to avoid "stress shielding" effect on the bone due to too stiff implants, leading to bone resorption. In this work, different Ti-6Al-4V porous scaffolds have been produced by vacuum sintering from spherical powders of selected sizes. The influence of porosity on stiffness of the implant has been analysed.
