Resumen
Corrosion inhibiting solution of a steel element comprises deionized water, at least one neutral salt, at least one aminocarboxylic acid, and an alkaline compound comprising potassium hydroxide or sodium hydroxide. The inhibiting solution has a pH greater than 9, preferably 9-12. USE - The solution is useful for: inhibiting corrosion of a steel element; fixing corrosion inhibiting monolayer on steel elements (all claimed); and forming monolayers for use in non-aqueous systems of reinforced concrete. ADVANTAGE - The solution: is safe and environment friendly; provides stable monolayer without affecting the adhesive characteristics of inhibition; and generates uniform and homogeneous layer on a surface of the steel element that has the ability to reduce the corrosion kinetics of a future corrosion process. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for:(1) process (p1) of fixing corrosion inhibiting monolayer on steel elements comprising (a) cleaning the surface of the steel element to be protected, (b) performing a chemical etching of the surface of the steel element obtained in step (a), cleaning and drying, and (c) contacting the steel elements obtained in step (b) with the inhibiting solution; and(2) a process (p2) of fixing corrosion inhibiting monolayer on steel elements comprising cleaning the surface of the steel to be protected, and placing the steel element in contact with the inhibitor solution.
